There are three locations around Walpole that permit camping in the surrounding national parks. Please visit the Department of Biodiversity, Conservations and Attractions website for up to date information regarding camping in the National Parks. 

Located within D’Entrecasteaux National Park and accessible by 4WD only, Banksia Camp is a great choice for a family holiday, with camping and fishing and spectacular coastal views across to Chatham Island. Fees apply. 

Getting there – 18 Kilometres west of Walpole, turn off the South Western Hwy at Crystal Springs, travel along Mandalay Beach Rd for 5.5 kms, then turn down Banksia Track to Banksia Camp. 

Crystal Springs is a gateway to the eastern section of D’Entrecasteaux National Park with Mandalay Beach, Banksia Camp and Broke Inlet accessed from here. You can set up camp under a thick grove of peppermint trees and you’re only a short drive from Walpole. Fees apply. 

Situated in the Walpole-Nornalup National Park 12km west of Walpole.

Set in Mount Frankland South National Park, Fernhook Falls is well set up for campers with tent sites, picnic tables, toilet facilities and a shelter with free gas bbq. There are also two cosy huts – as these huts are popular please limit your stay to three nights. Fees apply. 

Situated 36 km north-west of Walpole on Beardmore Road, turn off South Western Highway.
