DESCRIPTION:Duration: 2 hr\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPublic  · Anyone on or off Facebook\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSummerstar Walpole Rest Point Caravan Park are proud to host Recfishwest (with our sponsor Healthway)\,who have been running fishing clinics for children\, families and communities for over 20 years throughout WA. Through our fishing clinics\, families are encouraged to spend time together whilst learning to fish. Our very experienced clinic instructors explain to participants who Recfishwest is and what we represent to the WA community.\nIn previous years\, Recfishwest has run clinics along the south coast of the state\, including at Rest Point Caravan Park in Walpole. Recfishwest will be running a Southern Tour this summer and will be in Walpole on Saturday January 15 and would like to run a couple of free fishing clinics along the jetty which overlooks the inlet. We will provide all fishing gear\, bait and tuition for the participants. The first clinic from 9am – 11am and the second from 12:30pm – 2:30pm.\nAlong with the fishing aspect of the clinic\, instructors also provide a short presentation before and after the clinic. This presentation covers the following topics:\n\nTeaching kids the right way to fish\nSustainability messaging\nSun-smart messaging\nFishing safety messaging\nThis exercise not only lets us spread important messages to the next generation\, but also lets us engage with the rest of the fishing community on key fishing issues they might be facing. This is a big part of why we exist as an organisation\, enabling us to effectively advocate on behalf of the rec fishing community when issues arise.\nGroup numbers – up to 30 children may be registered per fishing clinic and up to 2 clinics can run per day (1 morning and 1 afternoon). Parents are expected to be present as supervisors for children 14 and under.\nPlease indicate your interest by emailing us on:- restpoint@restpoint.com.au.\nRegistrations will also be open on the day.
