The best time to explore the forest is early in the morning when the birds are most active and chorusing. Join our amateur enthusiasts in a walk around Horseyard Hill (about 1 hour walking) and see what is out and about in the forest.
The mornings are generally quite cool, so bring your weatherproof gear and you will need a good pair of binoculars. We will provide you with a list of all the birds of the Walpole Wilderness and some tips on where to go to spot them. Spotting the birds in heavy rain or wind can be very difficult, so this event may be postponed due to the weather.
The State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is a major supporter of Walpole Nornalup Visitor Centre – 2022-23 Outdoor Active Recreation Program in Western Australia. Sport and recreation creates vibrant, inclusive and connected WA communities.
